“The Magic of Suits” project stems from Carolina Cucinelli and Virgilio Villoresi’s shared desire to convey the magic of craftsmanship and tailoring: ancient art forms that stand the test of time and are renewed thanks to the great passion and knowledge of artisans.

To convey this “magic”, artist and filmmaker Virgilio Villoresi (Fiesole - Florence, 1979) has accurately reconstructed a real tailor’s workshop in his Milan studio, where fabrics, sketches, mannequins, needles and threads come to life and interact in the scene like real actors on stage.

Virgilio, who is strongly influenced by experimental cinema and retro imagery, makes his films “by hand”, frame by frame, using the stop-motion animation technique to create visionary and dream-like settings.
